Upload teacher details on school websites by Feb 15, ETEducation
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a reminder to all affiliated schools to upload and regularly update mandatory teacher-related details on their school websites as part of “mandatory public disclosure“, warning that non-compliance could invite action under the board’s affiliation bylaws.
The board directed schools to strictly comply with the disclosure requirements and upload teacher-qualification information in the revised Appendix-IX format by Feb 15, 2026. It added that failure to follow the instructions will be treated seriously as a violation of the relevant provisions and may lead to penalties under chapter 12 of the affiliation bylaws. The circular was issued with the approval of the competent authority and is signed by CBSE secretary Himanshu Gupta.
CBSE said it observed that despite repeated directions, several schools either did not update information on their websites at regular intervals or uploaded incorrect details and invalid documents under mandatory public disclosure. It noted that details of teachers and their qualifications are “invariably” missing from many school websites, affecting transparency for parents and other stakeholders.
In a circular dated Jan 12, CBSE said schools seeking or holding affiliation must maintain functional websites carrying comprehensive information on school infrastructure, affiliation status and, crucially, teacher particulars – including names, qualifications and updated self-attested copies of prescribed documents in the Appendix-IX format. The board cited multiple clauses of its affiliation bylaws to underline that maintaining such disclosures is not optional, and also pointed to the requirement of posting an annual report on the website before Sept 15 every year.
