Teaching and non-teaching staff from govt colleges yet to receive Oct salary, ETEducation
Mumbai: Teaching and non-teaching staff from govt colleges across the state have still not received their salaries for Oct. These salaries are usually disbursed within the first three days of every month. However, a technical issue on the govt’s end has caused an unexpected delay. With more than two weeks having passed, many employees are now struggling to manage their loan EMIs, and some non-teaching staff are finding it difficult to meet even basic household expenses, said teachers.
A new system has been introduced and the department is now tallying the updated data, said a govt official. He added that the system integration is almost done and once the certificates are sent, the bills will be generated. He assured that salaries will be credited to the staff’s account next week, adding that the salaries of aided colleges have already been disbursed. Many teachers, however, are facing difficulties with their EMIs. “Some of the class IV employees are borrowing smaller amounts from their colleagues to manage their basic expenses. The govt should have ensured that this data tallying process was completed before time,” said a teacher.
