Teachers key to nation-building, govt committed to NEP 2020: Rajasthan CM, ETEducation
Jaipur, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Sunday said that India has always been blessed with a great ‘guru-shishya’ tradition, where the teacher acts as a true guide, philosopher and mentor to the student.
“Teachers are the vital link between society, culture, and policy. The positive and progressive environment that prevails in society today has been made possible through the tireless efforts of teachers. It is they who can fulfil Swami Vivekananda’s dream of guiding the youth and giving direction to the nation,” he said.
Sharma was speaking at the national convention of the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shikshak Mahasangh (ABRSM) in Jaipur.
He said that the state government is committed to implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 effectively to provide skill-based and employment-oriented education to students.
“The government considers the problems of teachers as its own and will ensure their timely redressal,” he added.
Referring to the convention’s theme, “Shikshak Rashtra ke Liye” (Teachers for the Nation), the Chief Minister remarked, “This is not just a conference but a mahayajna of nation-building. Teachers are the true architects of society, and the progress of our youth depends on their inspiration and guidance.”
Education Minister Madan Dilawar said that Rajasthan has made remarkable progress in the field of education, rising from the 11th to the 3rd position nationally within a year.
ABRSM National president Prof. Narayan Lal Gupta highlighted the organisation’s journey and achievements. He said ABRSM is the world’s largest teachers’ organisation working with the core principle – “Education for the Nation, Teachers for Education, and Society for Teachers.”
RSS Regional Pracharak Nimbaram, RSS Regional Executive Member Hanuman Singh, Rajasthan University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alpana Kateja, delegates, and teachers from 28 states participated in the event.
