Study Highlights The Values Of Teachers “Faking It Until We Make It”
What teacher among us has not tried to fake enthusiasm in the classroom after our previous period’s class was a disaster? Or when we were dealing with a personal crisis outside of the classroom?
I would suggest that faking emotions, as much as we realistically can considering we are only humans, is part of the job (though, in certain situations and in certain classes, showing ourselves to be vulnerable can also be the way to go).
A new study suggests that faking these emotions can pay-off in the classroom.
