
Sharjah Consultative Council and Emirates Scholar Center welcome prominent Indian figures to strengthen academic cooperation and international dialogue
As part of joint coordination between the Sharjah Consultative Council and the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, H.E. Dr. Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council and Chancellor of Emirates Scholar, received a high-level Indian delegation. The delegation included H.E. Preneet Kaur, former Minister of State for External Affairs and former Member of Parliament for Patiala, and H.E. Manisha Gulati, former Chairperson of the Punjab State Women’s Commission.
The meeting, held yesterday evening, was attended by H.E. Halima Al Owais, Vice Chairperson of the Sharjah Consultative Council, along with Council members H.E. Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, H.E. Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, H.E. Amer Al Zarouni, and H.E. Dr. Hend Al Hajri.
From the Emirates Scholar Center’s Board of Trustees, the attendees included Dr. Firas Habbal, President of the Center, Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director General, and Mr. Khalid Al Ali, Treasury.
This reception comes within the framework of the “Year of Community 2025” launched by the UAE, reflecting the joint efforts of the Council and the Center to foster academic and research partnerships, strengthen international cooperation, and enhance intellectual dialogue between leaders and institutions.
The initiative underscores the Emirates Scholar Center’s continued commitment as a pioneering research institution dedicated to opening new horizons for collaborative research, contributing to building a knowledge-based society rooted in global partnerships.
In his welcoming remarks, H.E. Dr. Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi emphasized that the meeting reflects the UAE’s keenness to establish strong international partnerships founded on mutual respect and cultural and knowledge exchange. He highlighted the deep historical ties uniting the UAE and India and stressed the joint role of the Council and the Center in nurturing scientific and intellectual dialogue that supports development and strengthens the UAE’s global presence as a nation open to collaboration and international partnerships.
For her part, H.E. Preneet Kaur expressed her sincere appreciation for the warm reception by the Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council, praising the Emirates Scholar Center’s pioneering initiatives in advancing scientific research and supporting scholars across disciplines. She described the Center as a model for international academic integration, affirming that joint initiatives in research, education, and innovation between the UAE and India will contribute to building a more stable and prosperous future for both nations.
The meeting concluded with a presentation by the Emirates Scholar Center of its key strategic projects, which included discussions on developing scientific publishing mechanisms, expanding research in artificial intelligence, and building further academic partnerships at regional and international levels. The Center reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its role in enhancing research collaboration and knowledge exchange, in line with the UAE’s strategic vision of building a cohesive society open to the world.
