QR codes on university degrees now mandatory, ETEducation
Jaipur: To curb the submission of fake degrees in recruitment exams, Rajasthan Public Service Commission govt Thursday announced that all university degree certificates must now feature a QR code for authentication.
“Now, degrees, diplomas, mark sheets, and migration certificates issued by govt and private universities in the state will mandatorily bear a QR code,” said a senior official. This initiative, proposed by the RPSC and approved in September, aims to enhance the verification process.
Officials said many suspicious documents come to light during recruitment processes, and their verification takes a considerable amount of time. To address this issue, RPSC sent suggestions to state govt regarding changes to documents issued by universities. “As a result of these changes, recruitment agencies will be able to verify candidates’ documents directly with the original records of the university with a single click. This will also expedite the recruitment process,” the official said.
