Perform or face action, Arunachal minister warns teachers, ETEducation
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh education minister PD Sona has issued a stern warning to teachers across the state asking them to perform their duties diligently or face strict disciplinary measures.
Reiterating the state govt’s zero-tolerance policy on negligence, Sona said absenteeism and poor performance will not be tolerated.
“Attendance and performance will be closely monitored. Those failing to meet standards will be transferred to other locations,” he said while addressing a public event at Mechukha in Arunachal Pradesh’s Shi-Yomi district on Tuesday.
The minister said the state has taken ‘concrete steps’ to strengthen its education system, including upgrading infrastructure, merging schools for efficiency, and ensuring that resources are optimally used for the benefit of students.
“Teacher transfers and postings have been carried out to ensure equitable distribution of manpower, but with that comes the need for accountability. Teachers must serve sincerely at their designated posts. Any failure to report without valid reasons will invite disciplinary action,” he said.
Sona also appealed to students to take their studies seriously and not squander the sacrifices made by their parents. “Do not take your parents and their hard-earned money for granted,” he said.
He said the govt’s collective goal is to build a ‘stronger, accountable and student-focused education system that empowers the next generation’.
