Noida school shines at UN summit; Only UP school among global top 8, ETEducation
Mayoor School, Noida, has secured a major international honour at the 9th 1M1B Impact Summit held at the United Nations in Geneva. The school was the only institution from Uttar Pradesh and one of only eight schools worldwide selected for the global forum.
The school received the Global Goals Incubator Award, which recognises institutions demonstrating sustained commitment to developing young changemakers and advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A seven-member student team from Mayoor School presented a project on SDG 14: Life Below Water, focusing on ocean and water health. Their presentation drew appreciation from UN officials, sustainability experts and international leaders attending the summit.
During the event, students interacted with representatives from UNECE, UNEP, and mentors from organisations including UC Berkeley and The Geneva Learning Foundation.
In a separate recognition, Anusha, a Class X student, was named among the Top 50 Changemakers of the Changemakers World Cup 2025 for her contributions to sustainability initiatives.
Calling the achievement a “significant milestone,” Principal Alka Awasthi lauded the team and said the honour reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing empathy, innovation and global citizenship among its students.
