Dehradun, Senior academician Navin Chandra Lohni was on Wednesday appointed as the vice chancellor of Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani.

His appointment to the post was approved by Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (retd) on Wednesday.

Lohni, who originally hails from Uttarakhand’s Bageshwar district, is currently posted as a senior professor and Head of the Department of Hindi at the Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.

He has over 35 years of experience in the field of teaching.

His appointment has been made for three years.
