MPPSC faces criticism after error in assistant professor exam admit cards, issues revised link, ETEducation
Indore: Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission once again found itself under criticism over its examination management after serious error was detected in the admit cards issued for the Assistant Professor Computer Science Examination 2025. The commission released the admit cards on Friday evening, but within an hour, the download link was abruptly withdrawn, causing confusion among candidates.
On Saturday, MPPSC issued an official notification acknowledging the mistake. In the notice, the commission stated, “The Assistant Professor Computer Science Examination-2025 is scheduled to be held on Jan 4, 2026, in two sessions. A link was published for downloading admit cards. However, it has come to notice that negative marking was mentioned by mistake in point number 03 of the admit card instructions. Candidates, who have already downloaded the admit card, as well as other candidates, will be able to download the revised admit card from the commission’s website once the link is published.”
The error was linked to the examination pattern mentioned on the admit cards released on Friday. The instructions stated that one mark would be deducted for every wrong answer and three marks would be awarded for each correct response. In reality, the examination has no provision for negative marking and each question carries four marks. The incorrect information led to widespread anxiety and uncertainty among candidates.
Despite the clarification issued by MPPSC, revised admit cards were not made available till Saturday evening. With the examination scheduled for Jan 4, 2026, and only a few days remaining, the delay added to the stress faced by aspirants. Candidates also raised concerns regarding examination centres. Indore was mentioned as a probable exam city earlier, but the lack of clarity on the admit cards further added to their worries.
Late on Saturday night, MPPSC finally uploaded the corrected admit card link on its website, enabling candidates to download the revised documents. The commission reiterated that all candidates, including those who had already downloaded the admit cards, would be able to re-download the corrected admit card.
The episode has once again raised questions about the commission’s administrative efficiency, especially in handling competitive examinations conducted under tight timelines.
