
Madhubani govt school teacher beaten up over misconduct allegations, ETEducation
Patna: A govt school teacher in Madhubani district was assaulted with slippers by women and local residents after allegations of inappropriately touching girl students during class surfaced on Saturday.
The incident occurred at a govt primary school under Khajauli police station area. The video of parents beating up the teacher went viral on social media.
An FIR was registered against the accused teacher on the statements of the parents. Raids are being carried out to nab the accused identified as Md Asgar Ali, police said on Sunday.He allegedly behaved inappropriately with the girl students. One of the students informed her parents about this. After that, her parents, along with other villagers, reached the school and beat up the teacher with slippers and shoes. Meanwhile, the villagers also locked him in a room of the school.
They demanded that senior officials be called. However, the accused teacher, spotting an opportunity, escaped by jumping from the back window of the room.
The villagers alleged that he had been inappropriately touching children for a long time.
Khajauli SHO Praveen Kumar Singh said, “On the written application of the student’s mother, a case was registered against the accused teacher. We are conducting raids to nab him.”
The students and parents alleged that they informed the headmaster about this several times and even complaints of the teacher’s objectionable behaviour was also reported by a woman teacher.
The in charge headmaster of the school, Ram Naresh Yadav, said: “The teacher was counselled several times on the students’ complaints, but there was no improvement in his behaviour. We will write to the education department for departmental action against the accused teacher.”>
