
‘Kalai Thiruvila’ being held for Trichy schools, ETEducation
Trichy: The district-level ‘Kalai Thiruvila‘ art festival competitions for govt and govt-aided school students are being held across 10 schools in Trichy district from Oct 27 to 30.
Around 3,927 students from classes 1 to 12 are participating in more than 100 events, including painting, drawing, clay and sand sculpture, rangoli, folk dance, Bharatanatyam, literary and street drama, and instrumental music.
On Wednesday, school education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi visited Khajamian higher secondary school, where competitions for students from classes 9 and 10 were underway. He interacted with the participants and lauded their creative talents. Chief educational officer G Krishnapriya and other district education officers were also present.
Winners from the district-level competitions will represent the district at the state-level art festival to be held at the end of Nov.
