Illegal appointments at Sanskrit college; FIR lodged against five, ETEducation
Lucknow: Deoria police registered an FIR against a former and a present manager of Shri Sarwar Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Kishoreganj, along with three teachers in connection with alleged fraudulent appointments made at the institution.
Soon after the FIR was lodged, all the accused reportedly fled their homes, triggering a stir in the locality. The case pertains to the alleged illegal appointment of three teachers at the Sanskrit college. Acting on a written complaint submitted by assistant district inspector of schools (ADIOS) Nilesh Kumar Pandey, police registered the case late on Saturday night and initiated an investigation.
According to the FIR, in 2007, the then manager of the college Setvan alias Setbandhu Tiwari, a resident of Gayatripuram on Kasya Road under the Sadar Kotwali area, appointed Satendra Tiwari, Yogeshwar Nath Tiwari and Dinavati Tripathi as teachers without obtaining mandatory approval from the competent authority. The appointments were found to be in clear violation of prescribed rules and procedures.
During the departmental inquiry, conflicting claims emerged. The former manager blamed the current manager Manoj Kumar Srivastava for the alleged fake appointments, while the present manager shifted the responsibility back to his predecessor. Due to these contradictory statements, the matter became suspicious.
Three days ago, the additional DIOS visited Shri Sarwar Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya to verify appointment records. However, the current management failed to produce any documents related to the recruitment of the three teachers. Finding the explanation unsatisfactory and documents missing, the ADIOS approached the police and submitted a formal complaint seeking criminal action.
Taking the complaint seriously, police registered an FIR against the former manager, the current manager Manoj Kumar Srivastava, Satendra Tiwari, Yogeshwar Nath Tiwari and Dinavati Tripathi. The accused were booked under sections related to cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy and preparation of forged documents.
Kotwali in-charge Mahendra Kumar Chaturvedi said the dates of occurrence were mentioned as Dec 27, 2006, and May 7, 2007.
