Girl dies by suicide in college hostel, Education News, ET Education
Madikeri: Three days after her birthday, a college student died by suicide in the hostel of Coorg Institute of Technology (CIT) at Halligattu near Ponnampet on Wednesday evening after allegedly being upset with her studies.
Police said she returned to the hostel around 4pm. When her classmate went to her room at 4.30pm, she found that the room was locked from the inside. When Tejaswini did not respond, the classmate informed the hostel staff, police said. When they opened the door with force, it came to light that she committed suicide.
She left a death note, police stated. Ponnampet police have registered a case.
