H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, one of the seven emirates that make up the UAE, met with UAE Minister of Education Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri on Monday to review preparations for the 2025–2026 academic year. The meeting took place at the Ajman Ruler’s Court, where discussions centred on strengthening the Arabic language, promoting national identity, and updating curricula to support the country’s long-term development goals.

Fujairah is located on the country’s eastern coast along the Gulf of Oman. Sheikh Mohammed underscored the role of education in building resilient societies and advancing sustainable development, adding that under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, the emirate is committed to enhancing educational institutions and providing the resources needed to improve outcomes.

“The development of education is essential to preserving national values while preparing future generations to contribute to the country’s comprehensive development agenda,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

Sarah Al Amiri, who was appointed Minister of Education for the UAE in 2023 and also chairs the UAE Space Agency, outlined the Ministry’s latest initiatives for the academic year. These include reforming curricula to align with global best practices, investing in digital skills, and embedding cultural identity as a cornerstone of education.

Al Amiri expressed her appreciation for Fujairah’s support, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the federal Ministry and local emirates to achieve ambitious national targets. Mohammed Hamza Al Qassim, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, also attended the meeting.
