English medium schools to get oversight panel, Education News, ET Education
Jamshedpur: Minister for schools education and literacy, Ramdas Soren, has announced the formation of oversight committees in all English medium schools to monitor student-related matters.
These committees will comprise govt representatives, school management officials, and parent body members. Their primary responsibility will be to oversee various aspects including book sales, re-admission fees, and uniform purchases.
“A board displaying committee members’ names and contact information will be installed outside all English schools, allowing parents to register complaints directly,” Soren stated on Wednesday.
Emphasizing the govt’s commitment to regulate English schools according to state education board guidelines, the minister warned that non-compliant private institutions would face consequences.
Earlier, on March 27, the East Singhbhum district education department issued notices to 78 private unaided English medium schools. The institutions were directed to submit fee structure details for academic years 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26, along with corresponding audit reports.
