DSMNRU takes initiatives to welcome foreign PhD students, ETEducation
Lucknow: Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) may soon induct first batch of foreign students in PhD course.
The university has established an Office of International Student Relations to hold talks with embassies, ensure hostel and accommodation facilities, and develop cultural ties.
“We are establishing and enhancing our International Student Offices (ISOs) as mandated by the UGC and NEP 2020 to boost global outreach, promote India as a study hub, coordinate foreign student support (admissions, visas, grievances), and foster international collaborations, with some foreign universities also setting up branch campuses under new regulations. These offices act as a crucial link for welcoming and integrating international students, handling branding abroad, and facilitating academic partnerships, aligning with India’s goal to attract more foreign students,” said DSMNRU spokesperson Yashwant Virodai.
He said the university was already contacted by some students from Thailand and other countries who were interested in joining PhD programmes offered by the university.
