
Dr GKD Prasad Rao gets Gurram Jashuva Award, ETEducation
Visakhapatnam: Dr GKD Prasad Rao, a faculty member of the department of journalism and mass communication at Andhra University, received the Gurram Jashuva Award, instituted by the Andhra Pradesh govt.
The award was presented by the state tourism and cultural minister, Kandula Durgesh, at a special ceremony held in Vijayawada. The award included a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a certificate of appreciation. Dr Rao published a book titled Dalit Journalism in 2011 and edited the essay collection Samajika in 2015, which focuses on Dalit issues in India.
He has written over one hundred articles on various social, political, economic, and cultural aspects related to Dalits in different journals and has published several research papers. Currently, he contributes articles on significant events in the hundred-year history of Andhra University across various journals.
