Class 11 practical exams 2025 to be held in respective schools for Oct-Nov session, ETEducation
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued an important circular regarding the conduct of the external practical assessment for Higher Secondary Part-I (HSP-I), Class 11 Annual/Regular 2025 examinations for the Oct-Nov session in the Winter Zone of Jammu Division.
Due to the extreme cold weather conditions prevailing in various areas, including sub-zero temperatures, JKBOSE has decided that the external practical assessments will now be conducted in the respective schools of the candidates. This applies to both government and private affiliated institutions and aims to ensure student safety, convenience, and better attendance during the practical exam period.
Minimum requirement of 25 candidates per subject
As per the notice, schools will be eligible to conduct the practical examinations internally only if there are at least 25 candidates per subject within the institution. Schools meeting this requirement will act as the practical examination centres for their own students, thereby reducing the need for travel during harsh winter conditions.
External examiners to conduct assessments
While the practical exams will be conducted in the students’ respective schools, JKBOSE has clearly stated that examiners will continue to be appointed externally. This measure ensures transparency, uniformity, and compliance with academic standards set by the board.Additionally, JKBOSE has directed the Heads of all concerned Sub/Branch offices to prepare external practical centre notices accordingly. They are required to make the necessary arrangements, including the appointment and coordination of external practical examiners, to ensure the smooth implementation of the revised plan.
Decision taken in interest of students
According to the board, this decision has been taken in the academic interest of the candidates, especially considering the uncomfortable and chilly weather conditions that could hinder students’ movement. Conducting the practical assessments in the students’ respective schools is expected to ensure 100% attendance and provide a more manageable and secure environment for the Class 11 students appearing in the HSP-I practicals.
JKBOSE has advised all students, parents, and schools to stay updated with further notifications and instructions issued by the board. Schools are expected to communicate the detailed practical exam schedule and guidelines to students in the coming days.
