CBSE to feature student voices in educational podcasts, ETEducation
In a move aimed at making educational content more engaging and relatable, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a new initiative to involve students directly in the creation of its digital podcasts. The board has already begun releasing podcasts on public platforms, focusing on academic guidance and counselling support for students, parents, and schools. To make the content more student-centric, CBSE has proposed featuring student voices through short audio or video interactions, testimonials, and conversations. These will be showcased on the board’s official social media channels and other digital platforms. The initiative is designed to give students a national platform to express their thoughts on issues relevant to their generation, while also helping them develop communication and creative skills.
CBSE-affiliated schools have been asked to nominate confident and articulate students from Classes IX to XII who are interested in participating. While the initiative is voluntary, schools have been directed to submit names and brief profiles of selected students.
Educators have welcomed the move, calling it a progressive step toward empowering learners. J K Sidhu, Principal of DAV school, BRS Nagar, said the initiative encourages students to express ideas, build confidence, and prepare for the digital age. “It promotes innovation, teamwork, and self-expression, helping shape future-ready individuals,” she said.
Anuja Kaushal, principal of BCM Arya Model School, Shastri Nagar, echoed similar sentiments. “This initiative transforms learners into creators. Through podcast scripting, digital storytelling, and multimedia creation, students will gain hands-on experience in communication, problem-solving, and technical skills like editing and voice modulation,” she said.
