CBSE reopens CTET application portal for incomplete submissions, ETEducation
Ahmedabad: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to provide a one-time opportunity to candidates who registered for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) but were unable to complete the final submission of their application forms. The CTET examination, which is mandatory for becoming a teacher in CBSE-affiliated schools, is scheduled to be held on Feb 8.
Online registration for CTET was conducted from Nov 27 to Dec 18, during which more than 2.53 million candidates across the country registered for the examination. However, upon scrutiny, CBSE found that applications of 1.61 lakh candidates remained incomplete, as they were not finally submitted despite the registration process being initiated. Notably, nearly 7.68 lakh applications were submitted in the last two days of the registration period.
Following multiple representations from candidates, CBSE reviewed the matter and decided to reopen the application portal to allow these candidates to complete their forms. The board cited the fact that CTET is conducted after a gap of 1 year and decided to extend the facility on humanitarian grounds.
According to the decision, the CTET portal will be reopened from Dec 27 to 30. Candidates will be able to submit their pending applications between 11am on Dec 27 and 11.59pm on Dec 30. CBSE has advised candidates to carefully verify all details before final submission and make corrections, if required, as no further opportunity for correction or submission will be provided.
Only those candidates who earlier initiated the registration process but failed to complete the final submission will be eligible to use this one-time facility.
