CBSE plans exposure trips for faculty to better teaching methods, ETEducation
Ranchi: Principals and teachers of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools will soon head for exposure tours to learn about transformative changes in teaching methods, which in turn will help them implement in their cradles.
A communique in this regard has been sent by CBSE to all schools as per which principals or teachers, can apply for the trip via board’s portal. The board will reimbursement travel and daily allowances up to Rs 10,000. However, each principal will be allowed only one visit opportunity in an academic year.
Visits are scheduled at premier institutions including the Institute of Hotel Management, Chennai, VIT and IIT Madras, PIET Panipat, and Jadavpur University, Kolkata. The objective is to familiarise principals with the latest technologies, skill-based learning models, and advanced infrastructure in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Those undergoing visits will gain direct exposure to innovative teaching practices and modern skill-oriented curricula, which they can then replicate in their schools, said academic experts.
Principal of Firayalal Public School, Niraj Kumar Sinha, said, “Once equipped with latest knowhow, teachers and principals can help prepare students for academic excellence. For a state like Jharkhand, where many schools are working to bridge the gap between traditional teaching and modern needs, such exposure can provide the much-needed push.” Principal of SR DAV Public School, Pundag, Tapas Ghosh, said, “Exposure visits give us a wider perspective on how schools across India are embracing skill-based learning. Missing out this year means we will have to rely on secondary updates rather than firsthand experience.” Principal of Gurunanak Higher Secondary School, Captain Sumit Kaur, said, “Such tours are not just about observing infrastructure but also about interacting with educators from different regions. Even though we missed it this time, we will try to ensure participation in the next round.”
Ranchi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made its new regional office and Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Ranchi operational. With this, all CBSE-affiliated schools in the state will now be managed directly from Ranchi instead of the Patna Regional Office, which earlier handled both Bihar and Jharkhand.
Officials said that the Ranchi office has started functioning from a temporary address at Pundag, opposite Shalimar Bagh, from Friday and will become fully operational within a month. Hunt for permanent facility is on, said sources.
