CBSE Class 10 Maths Exam 2025 Analysis Live: Paper lengthy and tricky say students, teachers, know what else they said
The CBSE Class 10 Mathematics exam for 2025 concluded today closely followed the CBSE sample papers, ensuring familiarity for well-prepared students. Those who had thoroughly studied the NCERT textbook and practised previous years’ question papers found the exam largely manageable.
CBSE Class 10 Mathematics Exam 2025: Question paper structure
● Section A: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) – 20 Marks
● Section B: Very Short Answer (VSA) – 10 Marks
● Section C: Short Answer (SA) – 18 Marks
● Section D: Long Answer (LA) – 20 Marks
● Section E: Case-Based Questions (CBQ) – 12 Marks
Paper difficulty and key observations
Overall, the paper was of moderate difficulty, with a mix of direct formula-based and conceptual application questions. While most MCQs were very easy, one of the sets was slightly lengthy, requiring additional time to solve. Case-based questions were also lengthy, demanding careful reading and logical interpretation.
Key Highlights from the paper
â—Ź Number-Based Concepts: The exam featured proof-based questions that tested the concept of irrationality. Problems on LCM and HCF were also included, ensuring students understood fundamental number properties.
â—Ź Algebra: Questions on finding the zeroes of polynomials were straightforward. Word problems in quadratic equations were easy, making this a scoring section. However, word problems from linear equations were comparatively more challenging.
â—Ź Geometry & Coordinate Geometry: Some geometry-based problems were tricky, especially those involving triangles and their properties. The concept of the length of a median was tested. Coordinate geometry questions were relatively easy and mostly formula-based.
â—Ź Trigonometry & Applications: The trigonometric identity-based questions were directly from NCERT, making them simple. Application-based trigonometry questions were also easy and required only basic understanding.
â—Ź Probability & Statistics: Basic probability questions were asked, which were simple to solve. In statistics, students were required to find the median, which was a direct question from NCERT.
â—Ź Circles & Surface Areas & Volumes: Most problems from these sections were manageable, but one question on circles was particularly difficult. Surface area and volume questions were easy but required lengthy calculations.
