
Annual Hall function Celebrated at Begum Sultan Jahan Hall, AMU – India Education | Latest Education News | Global Educational News
Aligarh : The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Prof. Naima Khatoon, lauded the accomplishments of the female residents of Begum Sultan Jahan (BSJ) Hall during the Annual Hall Dinner. She encouraged the students to uphold the values of AMU and strive for excellence not only in academics but also in personality development through active participation in extracurricular activities offered by the Hall and the University.
Prof. Khatoon, who was the chief guest at the event, unveiled the Hall’s annual magazine titled “Odyssey 2025 – Embracing the Journey”, edited and designed by Ms. Lama Taj. She also revealed the trophies for the Begum Sultan Jahan Memorial Women’s Inter-Hall Volleyball Tournament, in which BSJ Hall claimed victory, with B.A.N. Hall finishing as runners-up.
The event was also graced by the Guest of Honour, AMU Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammad Mohsin Khan, and Special Guest Prof. Rafiuddin, Dean of Students’ Welfare, who both addressed the gathering and praised the efforts of the students and the Hall administration.
The evening began with a warm welcome speech by Hania Khan, who reflected on the Hall’s legacy and honored the contributions of visionaries such as Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. The program featured a Quranic recitation by Ms. Bisma Zaidi and its translation by Ms. Hafsa Bano.
A vibrant cultural segment followed, showcasing soulful performances including a rendition by Ms. Shiza Ishtaq and a song by Senior Hall Monitor, Ms. Bushra Imam.
The function also recognized the behind-the-scenes contributions of the Hall staff—kitchen, office, maintenance, and security personnel—who were presented with tokens of appreciation. Committee members and volunteers from departments including discipline, literary, cultural, and sports were also acknowledged for their dedication throughout the year.
The Annual Hall Dinner was a joyful celebration of academic success, cultural richness, and community spirit at BSJ Hall.
