The TEFL Zone blog shared an interesting idea where the teacher regularly adds several questions a week to a Google Form quiz that is an ongoing review of what is covered in class.  Students can take it as often as they like, and it functions as a review and formative assessment.

I like the idea, though I thought that a massive Google Form might not be too engaging for my students.

So, I’ve modified my version into it being a Quizizz.  It offers a ton of different kinds of questions, and one Quizizz can handle up to five hundred questions.  It’s easy to  make them “retakable” as many times as students want.

Even better, I can have peer tutors create it!  When students are absent, and tutors don’t have anyone to tutor, they look at the materials we’ve previously used and create a mix of question types to add to our massive Quizizz.

An added benefit to this tool is that incoming students can use it to help them catch-up, just like they can use our online flashcards.

It’s working pretty well!
