When will results of assistant teachers be out, Jharkhand HC asks JSSC, ETEducation
Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Thursday directed the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission secretary to file an affidavit to inform as to by what time the result of the assistant teachers’ appointment according to advertisement number 13/2023 will be released by the commission.
The court of Justice Ananda Sen passed the ruling while hearing a petition filed by one Rameshwar Mahto, who stated that he, being a successful candidate, was called by the JSSC for verification of his documents. He had cleared the exams and was eligible for appointment as an assistant teacher for classes 1 to 5 in govt schools.
Despite the verification of documents of Mahto and several other candidates, the commission has still not published the result. The high court also queried the commission as to why it is releasing the results of candidates in a piecemeal manner. “Why are all successful candidates’ results not being published at once?” the court said.
During the hearing, the court was informed that such candidates who have been called for verification of documents have already cleared the exam, and no error has been found in their documents. However, the delay in publishing the results by the commission is grossly unfair, Mahto’s advocate pleaded.
The court was informed that there are as many as 11,000 vacancies for assistant teachers in the class 1 to 5 category, and only 4,333 candidates have been declared successful. The commission is yet to release the results of 3,500 candidates who have appeared in the exam.
