Unseal PT Thakkar college immediately: Teachers’ body, ETEducation
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat State Teachers’ Association demanded the immediate removal of the seal imposed on Prabhudas Thakkar Arts and Commerce College, located in Paldi. The building of the college that is affiliated to Gujarat University was sealed by the municipal corporation due to non-payment of property tax.
In a representation submitted to the corporation, the association stated that the institution is an educational establishment and that sealing the premises severely affected academic activities. Ongoing teaching, exams, practical work, and other educational processes came to a complete halt due to the closure.
The association pointed out that hall tickets for exams are issued from the college office, and with the building sealed, students are unable to access essential academic services. As academic activities are currently underway, the situation caused serious inconvenience to students and raised concerns about their academic future.
Citing public interest and the welfare of students, the association urged the civic body to adopt a humanitarian approach and immediately unseal the college building. The demand stressed that continuing the seal would adversely impact students’ education and disrupt the academic schedule.
