Delhi Police registers FIR in DSEU lecturer sexual harassment case, ETEducation
New Delhi: An FIR has been registered against Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University vice-chancellor Ashok Nagawat and ex-registrar Gagan Dhawan over alleged harassment of a female faculty member, following directions from a Delhi court.
The case, lodged at Dwarka South police station under IPC Sections 509 and 34, stems from a complaint by a Group ‘A’ gazetted officer and lecturer at DSEU’s Pusa campus.
She alleged harassment and deliberate damage to her service records during visits to the university’s Dwarka office. According to the FIR, the complainant had approached the VC’s office in Feb 2024 over salary delays and dues.
She alleged being shouted at, humiliated before officials and subjected to sexually inappropriate remarks. Her personal file and service book were allegedly mishandled and torn. The FIR was registered after a Dwarka court observed that the complaint disclosed cognisable offences warranting a police probe.
