Six state universities to hold convocations from Jan 22 to Feb 5, ETEducation
Chennai: After getting the governor’s nod to conduct convocations, six state universities — University of Madras, Anna University, Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University, Annamalai University, Periyar University and Bharathidasan University — will hold convocations from Jan 22 to Feb 5. More than five lakh students who passed out in the past two years (2024 and 2025) will get their degrees.Due to the ongoing tussle between governor R N Ravi and state govt on including UGC’s nominee in V-C search committees, 14 out of 22 state universities are functioning without vice-chancellors. This has delayed convocation at state universities for one to two years .
