ICT labs to be set up in 1,044 govt schools, ETEducation
Lucknow: Fostering digital literacy, critical thinking and problem-solving, the UP govt decided to establish ICT labs in 1,044 govt secondary schools. For this, the govt designated UPLC as the implementing agency which issued work orders to three companies.
Schools were asked to ensure an electricity supply in classrooms designated for ICT labs. If electricity was not available, arrangements should be made immediately.
Secondary education director Mahendra Dev instructed district inspector of schools (DIOS) to conduct a site inspection of selected schools to ensure all necessary arrangements were in place.
Dev said that ICT labs will strictly be used for academic and teaching purposes only.”Strict action will be taken against principals and teachers if the ICT lab is used for any purpose beyond academics,” Dev stated in his order.
