
Teachers’ recruitment before next academic year: Karnataka minister, ETEducation
Kalaburagi: Primary and secondary education minister Madhu Bangarappa said there was currently a shortage of over 51,000 teachers in the state.
Addressing a press conference held on Wednesday at zilla panchayat hall in Kalaburagi, he said that the recruitment of 13,000 teachers was already completed. He said that a decision was taken to recruit 80% of the shortage of teachers in Kalyan Karnataka. Recruitment of 5,800 teachers through the TET examination was ordered. The process of recruiting 5,000 teachers for the remaining posts was ongoing. He assured that 100% recruitment would be completed before the beginning of the next academic year.
He said that 100 schools will be established by the education department, and 200 KPS schools will be established by the KKRDB Board in the Kalyana Karnataka region.
In KPS schools, education will be provided from LKG to 2nd PUC in one place. Computer education, music, bilingual learning, and skill training are provided according to the class. He expressed confidence that qualitative educational change is possible in the next 3 to 4 years.
SSLC and II PUC exams are allowed to be written 3 times in a year. As a result, 1.1 lakh SSLC and 56,000 II PUC students passed in 2025, he informed. From the next academic year 2026-27, a face-to-face attendance system for teachers and students, and II PUC, will be implemented.
