Digital studios at DIET centres to boost learning through audio-visual means, ETEducation
Prayagraj: The state govt’s initiative to upgrade 27 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) as Centres of Excellence gained momentum with the approval of a Rs 13.50 crore hi-tech digital studio project that would help students to learn through advanced audio-visual means.
Officials stated that these digital studios to be set up in accordance with NEP-2020 guidelines would allow teachers from council schools to record educational videos on various subjects.
“The best videos would be circulated to all schools, enabling students to understand topics in a more engaging and interactive manner,” they said.
DIET principal Rajendra Pratap said during a meet early this week, proposals for the digital studio setup were requested within two days. Each DIET has been allocated Rs 50 lakh, out of which Rs 40 lakh will be used for construction and Rs 10 lakh for purchasing necessary equipment.
This plan is part of a larger infrastructure development programme already underway under the Centre of Excellence model. Multiple facilities like an administrative building, academic block, library, computer room, laboratory, seminar hall with a seating capacity of 50, a special education unit, and a research and innovation centre are currently under construction. The addition of digital studios is expected to enhance the academic environment and significantly improve teacher-training capabilities.
The Central govt has selected 27 DIETs across the state for development in two phases. The first phase includes DIETs in Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Meerut, Aligarh, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Agra, Barabanki, Kanpur Dehat and Kushinagar. The second phase covers Azamgarh, Bareilly, Bhadohi, Firozabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghazipur, Hathras, Kanpur, Kaushambi, Mathura, Pratapgarh, Shravasti, Sultanpur and Unnao.
