
Rajasthan govt to open 5 Sanskrit schools in 2026, ETEducation
Jaipur: To promote Sanskrit education, the state govt has decided to open five new Sanskrit schools and upgrade eight others.
The new schools will be established in Kota, Beawar, Tonk, Bhilwara and Dungarpur districts for the academic session 2026-27. Currently, there are 1,814 Sanskrit schools operating in the state.
“As per the budget announcement of the current financial year, new schools are being opened. The state govt has given financial and administrative approval for starting these schools from the next financial year. Over 1.26 lakh students are currently studying in Sanskrit schools across the state. With the new schools, students from rural areas will have increased options for Sanskrit schools,” said a senior official.
Officials further said that with the upgradation of the primary schools to upper primary, 975 students will be able to continue in their existing schools.
