Rajkot: Seven men, including six students, were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting the principal of Tolani Arts and Science College in Adipur town of Kutch district.
The arrests came after the principal, Sushil Dharmani, filed an FIR at Adipur police station on Tuesday, alleging assault and criminal intimidation. Chavda, supported by the other students, reportedly told Dharmani that they would no longer follow the uniform rule. He then slapped Dharmani, while the others threatened him. Dharmani, who is nearing retirement age, was humiliated during the assault.
College staff intervened and the students left the scene. The accused have been booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 132, 121(1), 189(2), 221, 224, and 351(3).
