9.9k teachers apply for internal transfers in govt primary schools, ETEducation
Ahmedabad: A total of 9,906 teachers working in govt primary schools across the state applied for transfers under the district internal transfer camp, officials from the directorate of primary education said. Transfer orders for eligible teachers will be issued on Jan 1, based strictly on the seniority of the applicants who participated in the internal transfer process.
The deadline for making corrections in applications submitted under the district internal transfer camp will conclude on Dec 26. Officials clarified that no further corrections or representations will be entertained after the stipulated deadline. Once the district internal transfer process is completed, the schedule for the inter-district transfer camp will be announced.
Every year, govt conducts three separate transfer camps for primary school teachers. The first is the surplus transfer camp, which was already completed this year. This is followed by the district internal transfer camp, allowing teachers to seek transfers between talukas within the same district. The final stage is the inter-district transfer camp.
This year, the surplus transfer camp was held on Dec 12, after which the district internal transfer process commenced on Dec 13. Online applications for the internal transfer camp were accepted from Dec 17 to 19. Subsequently, taluka- and district-level approvals were scheduled to be completed by Dec 29.
Following representations from various teachers’ unions regarding errors in submitted applications, the directorate allowed a correction window from Dec 24 to 26. Officials emphasised that any discrepancies remaining after the deadline will not be considered under any circumstances.
