
66 govt schools in Ferozepur, Fazilka to be closed till fresh orders, ETEducation
Fazilka: The deputy commissioners of Fazilka and Ferozepur have ordered that schools in areas that continue to be flooded will remain closed until further directions.
In all, the orders are binding on 66 govt schools — 30 in Fazilka and 36 in Ferozepur.
According to the orders, students have also been instructed to continue their studies online. In Fazilka, schools that will remain closed until further notice include Ghurka, Dhai Mohana Ram, Gudar Bhaini Hasta Kalan, Behk Boudla, Rana, Behk Hastan Uttar, Nawan Hasta Kalan in Fazilka-1 block, and Jhangar Bhaini, Mahatam Nagar, Jhagar Bhaini, Rete Wali Bhaini, Gulabewali Bhaini, Dhani Sadda Singh, Mahatam Nagar, Dona Nanaka, Muhar Jamsher, Muhar Khiva, Mansa Branch, Gatti No.1, Teja Ruhela, Sabuana, Mauzam, Salem Shah, and Alam Shah under Fazilka-2 block.
In Jalalabad-1 block, schools that will remain closed include Dhani Bachan Singh, Ladhuka, and Chak Khiva.
Ferozepur DC Deepshikha Sharma announced that 36 govt schools will remain closed. However, all other govt, private, and aided schools, colleges, and universities will reopen for teachers on Monday and for students on Tuesday.
Among the 36 flood-affected institutions that will remain closed are govt primary schools at Tendi Wala, Kalu Wala, Gatti Rahime Ke, Nihala Lavera, Dhira Ghara, Kamalwala Muthian Wala, Nihale Wala, Chandi Wala, Rajo Ke Uspar, Khundar Gatti, Ale Wala, Arazi Sabhran, Dulle Ke Nathuwala, Gatti Ajaib Singh, Nau Bahiram Sher Singh, Dhani Gurmukh Singh, Rana Panj Garai, Nawan Rana Panja Garai, Sher Singh Wala, Mauji Bahadur Ke, Kale Ke Hithar, Kutabdin Wala, Bandhala, Basti Ram Lal, Bhakhra, Sultan Wala, Fateh Wala, and Bagge Wala; govt middle schools at Ale Wala, Kamalwala Muthian Wala, Nihale Wala, and Mahalam; and govt high school at Khundar Gatti; and govt senior secondary schools at Dhira Ghara, Gatti Rajo Ke, and Nau Bahiram Sher Singh.
