
61,871 students to receive degrees, diplomas at Nagpur University’s 113th convocation, ETEducation
Nagpur: The 113th convocation of Nagpur University on January 9 will be one of its largest convocation ceremonies in recent years as 61,871 students will be receiving degrees and diplomas — 49,230 undergraduate students, 12,087 postgraduate students, and two DLitt awardees.
The convocation, to be held at the National Fire Service College auditorium, Raj Nagar, will begin at 3pm. Vice-chancellor Manali Kshirsagar will preside over the ceremony, while AIIMS-Nagpur president Dr Anant Pande will be the chief guest. Members of the university’s management council and deans of all faculties will also be present.
Degrees and diplomas will be conferred on students who cleared the Winter 2024 and Summer 2025 examinations.
University officials said the ceremony marks the culmination of academic efforts across affiliated colleges and postgraduate departments. Faculty-wise data shared by the university shows that the Faculty of Science and Technology accounts for the highest number of degree recipients at 20,308, followed by Commerce and Management with 14,625, Humanities with 12,441, and Interdisciplinary Studies with 5,709.
Additionally, 8,514 students from autonomous colleges, 273 diploma certificate holders, and one MArch by Research candidate will also be awarded qualifications.
The convocation will also recognise academic excellence — 229 awards, including 194 gold medals, eight silver medals, and 27 cash prizes will be presented to 140 meritorious students.
The ceremony will be live-streamed on the university’s YouTube channel. Students receiving medals and prizes have been informed, while those attending the ceremony have been asked to collect entry passes from the examination department on January 8.
