Mumbai: A college in Chembur, affiliated to Mumbai University, distributed a wrong question paper to law students appearing for the Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023 paper held on Saturday. While the university has taken cognizance of the issue and will be placing the matter in the Board of Examinations, an official spokesperson said that the evaluation will be done based on the question paper solved by the students and care will be taken to ensure that they do not suffer any academic loss.Mumbai University conducted examinations for both three-year LLB and five-year LLB students on Saturday.
While the three-year students were to appear for the ‘Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023′ paper, the five-year students were to appear for the ‘Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023 including Forensic’ paper. Both the question papers were sent to all colleges between 9.30 am and 9.40 am. However, at the Chembur Karnataka College of Law, instead of the question paper with the forensic component, the college downloaded the one without the forensic component.
While the university claimed that the problem was identified only in one college, Yuva Sena activist Sachin Pawar claimed that there was confusion at some other colleges too. A student who gave the exam from another college said that at 10.30 they were told that the question paper is not right, but after 15-20 minutes they were told it is the right paper, but the students were given extra time.—Yogita Rao
