Indore: After days of uncertainty, state education departments issued admission guidelines for over 270 CM Rise schools across Madhya Pradesh. The move comes days after govt schools marked the start of new academic session with the state-level Praveshotsav on April 1.While Praveshotsav concluded on April 4, initiating academic activities in more than 92,000 govt schools, parents of prospective CM Rise school students were left confused due to absence of clear directions. But, the department on Wednesday issued guidelines to district education departments. According to the directives, CM Rise schools will begin distributing admission forms from April 11, with the process continuing for the next four to five days.

Unlike previous years, guidelines do not prescribe a specific timeline for conducting lotteries or finalising admissions. “This year, schools have been instructed to conduct lotteries only if applications exceed available seats. Otherwise, students will be admitted based on proximity to the school,” said CM Rise Ahilya Ashram School principal Ramesh Sen.

As per the circular, priority will be given to students studying in govt schools located within a one to three-kilometre radius of a CM Rise school. If vacancies remain, students from schools two to three kilometres away will be considered. For admissions in primary classes, especially under the Right to Education Act (RTE), distance remains the key criterion, with lotteries conducted only when necessary.

The guidelines also stated that the admission process will be based on school infrastructure status. Schools with newly constructed buildings handed over by March 31 will admit students as per the new policy. In schools still awaiting building completion — expected by June — admissions will be based on current capacity.

Additional district project coordinator Narendra Jain confirmed issuance of guidelines and said schools have been directed to proceed accordingly. “The first priority will be given to students of govt schools and children living around a three-kilometre radius from the school,” he added.

Daily visits by anxious parents on CM Rise school campuses reflect anticipation around the process. With forms set to be distributed from April 11, clarity has finally emerged — marking a structured beginning to the 2025-26 academic session for CM Rise institutions.
