
VIB registers 106 cases against ‘fake’ teachers in Bihar, ETEducation
Patna: After verifying 6,45,541 certificates till Oct 10, Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) has so far registered 106 cases against teachers who allegedly submitted fake documents to secure jobs at govt schools between 2006 and 2015, according to a statement issued by the probe agency on Wednesday.
According to the VIB, the bureau has also named 2,886 primary accused in 1,681 cases registered in various police stations across the state until Oct 21, even as an investigation is ongoing.
As far as the VIB cases are concerned, 15 were registered in Jan 2025, followed by five in Feb, 21 in March, 13 in April, nine in May, six in June, 11 in July, 12 in Aug, eight in Sept and six on Oct 21, bringing the total to 106 cases.
The govt has assured that no leniency will be shown in the crackdown on fake teachers.
The scam came to light after Patna high court directed the Bihar govt to conduct a thorough investigation into the recruitment of teachers between 2006 and 2015.
