School students will get a total of 46 days of holidays from May 1 to June 15, 2025 this year. At the same time, this holiday has been kept from May 1 to May 31 for teachers. Teachers will have to report to school from June 1 so that preparations for the new academic session can be done on time.

The state’s School Education Department has done this. According to officials, this decision has been taken after consultation with weather experts and senior citizens associated with education. During the summer season, the temperature of the state often reaches above 40 degrees Celsius, which can affect the health of children. In such a situation, this decision has been taken giving priority to the safety of the students.

Relief to students, preparation time for teachers

This 46-day holiday will give children an opportunity to escape the scorching heat and stay in the safe environment of home. At the same time, teachers have been called to prepare academic plans, update the curriculum and attend necessary training in the school from June 1 by giving them 31 days leave. A senior official of the Education Department said that options like online revision modules and short homework tasks are also being considered to ensure that the studies of the students are not interrupted during the holidays.

After the announcement of the holidays, most parents have welcomed it. However, some expressed concern that long holidays may cause a gap in studies. But the department has clarified that this gap will be bridged through the timely start of the academic session and summer training. After this summer vacation, schools will reopen from June 16, 2025, and the new academic session will start from the same day.
