
Bahrain National Commission for Education, Science and Culture holds first meeting under Education Minister’s chairmanship, ETEducation
The Bahrain National Commission for Education, Science and Culture convened its first meeting this week under the chairmanship of Education Minister Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, with committee members and invitees in attendance.
The meeting outlined the committee’s tasks and roles in advancing its objectives, including strengthening coordination between government and private institutions and international organisations such as UNESCO, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), and the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS).
Members also reviewed the Commission’s origins and responsibilities, explored areas of joint cooperation in education, culture, and science, and discussed participation in regional and international conferences and executive councils.
Dr. Juma delivered a presentation on the UNESCO King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Education, highlighting it as one of the most notable achievements of Bahrain’s cooperation with UNESCO. He also briefed the committee on preparations for the 20th anniversary celebration of the Prize, scheduled to take place in October.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on strengthening collaboration among members through joint initiatives aimed at advancing the Commission’s goals.
