
Principal Faces Charges After 14-Year-Old Loses Vision in Eye Due to School Injury, ETEducation
Kanpur: A 14-year-old student lost vision in her right eye while playing at a primary school in Banda district. The police have registered a case against the school principal and launched an investigation, said the officials.

Family members alleged that gilli-danda was being played on the school premises when a stick, which slipped from the principal’s hand, hit the girl’s eye, causing severe damage. The girl was taken to Janki Kund Chitrakoot, but her right eye’s vision could not be saved.
The victim’s father alleged that instead of taking responsibility, the principal hurled abuses and threatened to kill him. The girl’s father then filed a complaint at the police station.
Kamasin police station in-charge Bhaskar Mishra said, “Based on the complaint, a report has been registered against the principal. The student has been sent to the eye surgeon for medical examination. If the report reveals severity of the injury, sections will be enhanced.”
Basic education officer Avyakt Ram Tiwari said, “The investigation has been assigned to BEO Kamasin Rajesh Kumar. If the allegations are found true in the investigation, the principal will be suspended.”
