
Hingna school principal arrested, ETEducation
Nagpur: The cyber police arrested Megha Mate (57), principal of Chitralekhadevi Bhosale Upper Primary School in Kanholibara, Hingna taluka, in the ongoing Shalarth ID scam probe, on Friday.
Mate is accused of illegally appointing five bogus teachers using fake Shalarth IDs and submitting unverified monthly salary proposals, defrauding the govt of approximately Rs28 lakh.
The school is managed by Gramoddhar Vidya Prasarak Shikshan Sanstha. She is the 28th accused arrested in the case registered by cyber police for misuse of the online Shalarth ID system.
The case, filed on a complaint by deputy director of education’s junior administrative officer Ravinder Patil, invokes relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and IT Act.
A special investigation team (SIT) produced Mate before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, which remanded her in police custody until Jan 5.
