Will start medical college in Goa: Parul University, ETEducation
Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said the graduates from Parul University will help overcome the shortage of nurses, physiotherapists, and pharmacists in Goa’s health sector.
Parul University director Devanshu Patel said the university will start a medical college soon at its Betul, Quepem, campus.
Parul University has already admitted over 500 students across eight different faculties, offering 13 different programmes in nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy, IT, computer science, business administration, etc., said Patel.
“With the setting up of this university, we will contribute to the development of the state and the country. We have a different fee structure for Goan students, with lower tuition fees. At present, we constructed a 1 lakh sqft campus in Goa. We will have a campus of 10 lakh sqft soon. We plan to expand to 8,000 students over five years. We will have a medical college in Goa; the state only has one medical college at present. We will bring all streams like medicine, Ayurveda, and hotel management soon, which we have in Gujarat,” said Patel.
