Vadodara: A 52-year-old teacher in Padra taluka was arrested on Monday for consuming liquor on school premises, police said.
The accused, identified as Jageshwar Chaure, reportedly created a ruckus at Navoday School in Sadhi village, prompting the principal to inform the authorities.
Chaure, a native of Madhya Pradesh, had been working at the school for the past four months. Police arrived at the school and found him in a drunken state. As he did not have a permit to consume liquor, Chaure was booked under the Prohibition Act, officials said.
