SOL To Provide Admissions Through Sports

On Wednesday, the sports policy document was launched at an event hosted by SOL. Soon, a committee will be formed to move forward with this policy.Â
This committee will make decisions regarding admissions, awards, and scholarships under this policy. It is worth noting that until now, admissions through the sports quota in DU’s regular colleges were based on trials and certificates. Â
The National Education Policy emphasizes promoting sports among students, and in line with that, SOL has developed this sports policy document. The committee to be formed will make decisions regarding admissions, awards, and scholarships under this policy.Â
On Wednesday, the foundation stone of the Shri Ram Auditorium in the SOL campus, under DU’s Department of Distance and Continuing Education, was also laid. Additionally, the inauguration of the open education school’s call center, meeting room, and dedicated crèche facility for infants took place.
The program was attended by the Chairperson of the Red Cross Society (Delhi Branch) and educationist, Sangeeta Saxena, as the chief guest. The event was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Prof. Yogesh Singh.Â
 During the program, the top five outstanding students were honored, and all female students with a CGPA of 8.5 or above were specially awarded.
Sangeeta Saxena, while addressing the students, said that when we receive something, the responsibility to give back or return it increases.Â
The event was also attended by the Director of the Campus of Open Learning, Prof. Payal Mago, the Dean of Colleges, Prof. Baliram Pani, and the Director of DU’s South Campus, Prof. Prakash Singh.
