Saudi Arabia Launches AI Engineering Camp in Partnership with Oxford University, ETEducation
Saudi Arabia’s data authority has partnered with the University of Oxford to launch an intensive artificial intelligence application engineering camp aimed at training both Saudi and international graduates in advanced AI technologies.
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) announced the eight-week programme, which opens for registration on 13 and 14 August, as part of its drive to build national capabilities and strengthen ties with leading global universities.
Open to holders of bachelor’s and master’s degrees in AI, computer science and related fields, the curriculum will be delivered by international experts and will cover computer vision, deep learning and generative models. The authority stated that the participants will gain hands-on experience in designing and deploying AI models using Python, TensorFlow and PyTorch, and will work on advanced projects in natural language processing and computer vision.
The course will also train students in using industry-standard tools such as YOLO and Hugging Face to build real-world technical solutions. Its two-phase structure begins with remote learning before moving to an in-person phase at Oxford University.
SDAIA said the camp supports Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation agenda and Vision 2030 objectives by equipping graduates with the skills needed for an AI-driven economy. The initiative follows a broader push to position the Kingdom as a hub for emerging technologies in the Middle East.
