Prof Suresh Kumar Sharma appointed Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Bhagat Singh University, Ferozepur, ETEducation
Chandigarh: A Panjab University professor has been appointed vice-chancellor of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, Ferozepur, as per a notification issued on Jan 14.
Suresh Kumar Sharma, a professor in PU’s department of statistics, will serve a three-year term from the day he assumes charge. His appointment has been made under the provisions of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University Act, 2021. The terms and conditions will be notified separately.
According to official records, Sharma has earlier served as chairperson of the department of statistics and as coordinator of the Centre for Systems Biology and Bioinformatics at PU. He has been associated with research in statistics and biostatistics and has participated in national and international projects. He has also served as a visiting professor and scientist at institutions abroad.
Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, established through a state Act, will now get its first regular vice-chancellor with Sharma’s appointment
