Onus on colleges only, says Nagpur University VC, ETEducation
Nagpur: Amid complaints of erroneous hall tickets during Nagpur University‘s ongoing winter examinations, vice-chancellor Manali Kshirsagar clarified that the responsibility of uploading and verifying student photographs on hall tickets rests with affiliated colleges, not the university.
Several students reported receiving hall tickets without photographs, while some received hall tickets bearing incorrect photographs. Students also pointed out that invigilators’ attendance sheets at examination centres carried photographs that did not match even corrected hall tickets, leading to mass confusion.
“The university only prints the admit cards in a prescribed format based on the information submitted through examination forms. Once the admit cards are generated, they are handed over to the respective colleges. Photographs uploaded by colleges are only shown on the hall tickets,” Kshirsagar said.
She added that colleges collect photographs from students at the time of admission and while filling exam forms. “Colleges have students’ photographs with them. If the photographs are missing or incorrect, it means that they were either not attached or were not properly verified at college level. This is not something handled by the university,” the VC stated.
Kshirsagar also pointed out that the university had not yet received any formal written complaints so far in the matter. “Neither the examination department nor the Vice-Chancellor’s office has received a single official grievance on this particular issue. Students are busy with their exams and may not approach us formally, but as of now, there is no official written complaint,” she said.
